Pixies of the Court

We support Pixies of the Court since 2005

Garanti BBVA became the sponsor of National Women’s Basketball Senior Team right before European Women’s Basketball Championship which was held in Turkey in 2005 and gave the name Pixies of the Court to the team.

We believe that this support of Garanti BBVA contributed to the popularity of women’s basketball and Pixies of the Court in our country and this sponsorship complemented our support to Turkish basketball.

Pixies of the Court participated to the European Championship for the first time as a host team. During the tournament organized in our country in 2005 and ranked number 8 first time in its history. Pixies of the Court returned home with a silver medal from 2011 European Basketball Championship in Poland.

They successfully passed qualification process for 2012 Summer Olympic Games and became entitled to join Olympics for the first time. The National Team played in quarter finals in London and filled us with great pride and joy.

The team won 4th rank at the end of World Women’s Basketball Championship hosted by Turkey in 2014. Garanti BBVA also undertook the Event Sponsorship of this Championship.

After FIBA European Women’s Championship in 2015, Pixies of the Court finished the championshipin 5th rank and they qualified for 2016 Rio Olympic Games elimination process.

Pixies of the Court represented our country in 2016 Rio Olympics and completed Olympic Games at 5th Rank after losing the game to Spain at semi-finals. Our National Team Players came in 5th at European Championship in 2017 and they represented our country at World Championship in Spain in 2018.
